Are you wondering about how to get PlayStation Plus? It is a fairly new service, just announced at Electronics Entertainment Expo of 2010, that is confusing many. If you are wondering about how you can get it and what the benefits of being a PlayStation Plus member are, then read on.

PlayStation Plus is a subscription service that can be purchased via the PlayStation Store. PlayStation Plus will cost $17.99 per 3 months and $49.99 per year. You are able to use PlayStation Network Cards to add credit to your virtual wallet, and then purchase your subscription using your virtual currency. That is how you get your PlayStation Plus subscription, but what can you do with it and what are its benefits?

The PlayStation Plus exclusive service provides the subscriber with demo's at an earlier time, full game trials, premium avatars and themes, PlayStation Store discounts and more. These services will all be available to you, on top of automatic game update downloads, for convenience. Sony will pick four games (one PS one classic, Two PlayStation Mini's, and one PSN game) every month that will be given to you to download for free. This selection changes every month. Same principle with the PlayStation Store discounts. Every month, there will be certain discounts, and these discounts will change month by month.

PlayStation Plus is being released next week, and multiple surprises will be in store for the first PlayStation Plus subscribers. So be sure, you should read my PlayStation Plus guide in order to be able to reap the benefits of this exclusive membership.

PlayStation Plus was announced at this passed E3 2010. It is Sony's latest service add-on to the PlayStation Network. It is a premium service, made available for a small fee, that provides you with demo's at an earlier time, full game trials, premium avatars and themes and more.

PlayStation Plus will cost $17.99 for every 3 months of play time, and $49.99 for every year of play time. This is roughly equal to that of the rival online service, Xbox Live. For the moment, the only known way to pay for a PlayStation Plus subscription is through the PlayStation Store. So those of you with credit cards or spare cash from PlayStation Network cards will easily be able to pay for this. For those of you who do not have either of those, you can simply follow my Free PlayStation Plus guide.

Being a member of the new PlayStation Plus service will allow you to be able to download up to four free games per month. It was stressed, during the Sony press conference, that once your subscription ends that you will not have access to those games any longer. Each month, there will be a PSN game, two PlayStation Mini's and one PS one classic that will be made available for download.

There will be a plethora of discounts in the PlayStation Store for those of you whom choose to be apart of the PlayStation Plus service. These discounts will also be changed on the monthly basis.

The full game trial is a bit different. Instead of having to play a game demo, where the level is picked for you, you will be able to play a full game for up to an hour before stopped. This allows for a much more authentic experience and much more play time, most likely.

Your PlayStation 3 will automatically download any game downloads and updates simply to be convenient.

These are the known details about PlayStation Plus. It is a premium service added on to PlayStation Network. Multiplayer will still be free for PS3 owners who do not wish to subscribe. But subscribing to PlayStation Plus can have many benefits. If you wish to get Free PlayStation Plus, be sure to follow my guide.
